“Yesterday’s history. Tomorrow’s the future. Tonight’s the party.”

Graduation day and graduation night! The seniors have taken off their cap and gown and are all ready to face the future, but tonight is the last party. Everything will happen: people will have sex, people will get drunk, people will find love and people will cry.

Preston (Ethan Embry), the show stealer, finds out that the love of his life, Amanda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) has finally broken up with her boyfriend after 4 years. He wants to finally tell her how he feels. Over the years he has written and re-written a letter to her and finally this is going to be the night he gives it to her (or is he?). Even though that is the basic plot, there are so many smaller stories that take place during the party. Kenny “Special K” (Seth Green) has some very interested and well-acted scenes. Other stars include Melissa Joan Heart, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose and Peter Facinelli.

The disc contains a 16x9 enhanced 1.85:1 widescreen presentation and also a pan and scan version. Both are incredibly clear with no signs of problems except during the credits. It was very well done.

Audio is presented in DD 5.1 and is very well done also. During the opening credits, there is a unique use of the surrounds and how the discrete channels work. During the party scenes, the use of surrounds is dead on. During musical numbers, the sub will have a good workout.

Supplements include: a great commentary track by the directors and Seth Green (that discuss changes to what had to be changed not to get an R rating), and the Smash Mouth video “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby”.

The movie is very entertaining. It is rated PG-13 and is 101 minutes.
