EDDIE

Whoopi Goldberg keeps us in the laughs again!

Whoopi plays Eddie, a limousine driver who loves the New York Knicks. After driving the new owner of the team, she wins the chance to be the honorary couch for a game. The coach of the team is not very happy. In a stunt to move the team out of New York, the owner replaces the coach with Eddie. Eddie now must get the players to listen to her and hopefully improve their game.

The movie is full of laughs and Whoopi makes the character of Eddie very believable. The movie also has many cameos from leading basketball players, which only adds to the realism. Can she pull the team together and keep the team in New York?

The video is presented in 1.85:1 widescreen format. Overall the image is very clear. There seems to be no compression problems and blacks and colors seem dead on.

The audio is presented in DD 5.1 and also does very well. Surrounds can be heard as well as the LFE channel kicks on occasion. The bass may not be as explosive as it could have been, but a 5.1 soundtrack is better than a 2.0 soundtrack any day.

The only extra included (besides a French track) is a trailer for the movie.

Overall, this movie is very funny and the disc does well even though it could be better. Definitely worth a rental at least.
